Club History
The East Troy Viewfinders Camera Club has been a vibrant hub for photography enthusiasts since its inception in the spring of 2000. What began as a casual decision by members of an East Troy Adult Education class to form a photo discussion group soon blossomed into a structured community for photographers of all levels. By the fall of 2000, the group began meeting regularly as the East Troy Photo Discussion Group (Camera Club).
In July 2001, the group took a significant step by applying for the Wisconsin Area Camera Clubs Organization (WACCO) membership. By August of that year, they were proudly admitted, marking their commitment to broader engagement and excellence in photography. Their affiliation with the Photographic Society of America (PSA) followed in February 2002, enhancing their connections within the photographic community.
In the fall of 2004, the group changed its name to the East Troy Viewfinders Camera Club to reflect its evolving identity and focus. This name change signified their dedication to the art of seeing and capturing the world through the lens.
